DIY Unity Candle

We started looking at Unity Candles and found that the cheapest was around $35! I was shocked! Seriously, it's just a candle...I can handle that right? In an effort to save money, I went to Wal*Mart and found a white,"Fresh Petals" scented pillar candle and bought it for $1.97!

I searched online for ideas and found a picture on www.yourweddingcompany.com of a simple unity candle that fits the fall theme.

I also found a DIY site that features a Unity Candle decorated with a copy of the wedding invitation. www.diynet.com

So many choices! Either way, my goal is to create a Unity Candle for under $10 and to use the money saved toward the cost of the table centerpieces.

I like the making your own candle--get one the color theme of your wedding and go from there. Add flowers, ribbons, beads,etc.--the variety is endless. If concerned about white--use that color candles to lite the unity candle.
